Pep Guardiola's Manchester City are reportedly on the verge of sealing their third signing of the season.

According to The Sun, the Citizens are close to wrapping up a deal that will see Monaco left-back Benjamin Mendy move to the Etihad Stadium.

Guardiola is keen to get this deal done and dusted as soon as possible after missing out on Dani Alves and allowing Bacary Sagna, Gael Clichy and Pablo Zabaleta all to leave for free.

City will pay what Monaco have asked and Mendy will be the second player from the Principality club to join City after Bernardo Silva.

The France international helped Monaco win the Ligue 1 title last season, making 39 appearances as Leonardo Jardim's side also reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Do you think Mendy will be a good signing for City?

But Monaco have announced that Mendy missed training today with a thigh injury, while sources in Manchester claim there have been no real advances in talks between the clubs.
