Aaron Carter slams brother Nick, explains DUI arrest

Aaron, who is best known for his early 2000's pop career and dating Hilary Duff in 2003, has since stated that police targeted him for his "celebrity" and that he owns a medical marijuana licence.

Carter and his girlfriend remain in custody.

A spokesperson for the Habersham County Sheriff's office tells ET that Carter was arrested on charges of DUI refusal, possession of marijuana less than one ounce, and possession of drug related objects. He also added that he has a medical license for marijuana for "long-standing anxiety".

"[Aaron] was arrested inside by several police officers with aggression", his rep said.

Son Rick Wolff said his father died peacefully Saturday night at his Nyack home. "That's not cool at all to use me for his PR and kick me while I am down", the performer said in a statement.

Ironically, before the arrest, Carter was on the record for saying he doesn't drink or get DUIs.

Aaron is the brother of Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter, and he recently entered hospital for exhaustion following a gig in Syracuse, New York; in February he was attacked after reportedly making a racist comment against his opening act.

In a statement obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Carter's representative shared their side of the story. What's do we pay you guys for anyone's? "Accept no one's definition of your life; define yourself", he said. "The truth will come out!" the singer captioned a photo of his lengthy statement.

Aaron Carter is addressing the recent DUI arrest, and he is speaking out against his brother Nick Carter's tweet about the whole situation. He also appeared with his siblings in a reality show called House of Carters, which aired in 2006.
